Frequently Asked Questions

What size do I need?
As a gentle guide, the right size generally corresponds to your loved one's weight at the time of passing — so someone who weighed 150 pounds would typically be suited to a size 150. While this isn't an exact science, it works comfortably in nearly all cases.

How do these urns work?
While the urn looks like a wood sculpture, it has a stainless steel container on the inside with a screw top. We'd suggest filling the urn with the ash directly with the aid of funnel. A bag would be somewhat difficult to squeeze into the container.

What are my options for keeping ashes?
You have several meaningful choices — keeping ashes in a cremation urn at home, placing them in a columbarium niche, burying them in a cemetery, or scattering them in a meaningful place. Many families also split ashes among loved ones using smaller keepsake urns. A handcrafted wood urn is a beautiful way to keep your loved one close while honoring their memory with something natural and lasting.

Is it biodegradable?
Yes and no. The wood exterior will biodegrade over time if buried, but the inter stainless steel core container will not.

Will you ship to a funeral home?
Certainly. We are hear to help in anyway that we can.

What about sales tax?
If you are in any state other than Minnesota, we do not collect sales tax. We are literally a small mom and pop shop and do not generate enough sales outside of Minnesota to require reporting. In Minnesota, it is tricky. It turns out that urns -- memento to full size for human remains are tax exempt. However, for pet urns, they are taxed. That's why you will see the product variant -- human or pet.
